The project is an unpredictable amalgam of various noise styles dependent on theme. Tense Relative
- Tense Relative from Edmonton. Tense Relative, the project of Dan Lower, really fucked up in 2023, went dormant in 2024, and performed nine shows in 2025 as TR and as the unit GXTR (with Garlands), who break up after every show. Tense Relative brings an unpredictability to harsh noise performance that dares the audience to leave. A few people really seem to like it despite the performer’s best intentions. - Photon from Edmonton. Photon is an improvisational collective that seeks to push the boundaries of sonic expression through explorations in novel instrumentation, harsh timbres, and energy. They draw inspiration from Ornette Coleman, late-era John Coltrane, and Pharoah Sanders, embracing free rhythmic and harmonic structures. Photon is Will N-R on saxophone, Matt McKenzie on bass, Dylan Lindsay on saxophone, and Tony Flanagan on percussion.
